The Challenge

Louis XIII is a modern icon of luxury – precise, confident and uncompromising in its presence. Integrating the brand into Grantley Hall’s Norton Bar, a space defined by heritage, craftsmanship and historic grandeur, presented a delicate creative challenge.

Commissioned as a brand activation, the experience needed to feel unmistakably Louis XIII without overwhelming its setting. It had to complement the character of the bar while still commanding attention – contemporary brand theatre set within a classic, highly considered environment. The balance was exacting: respect the space, elevate the guest experience, and ensure the brand remained the focal point.

This was not simply about placement. It was about creating a moment designed to stop guests, create intrigue and feel worthy of both the brand and the setting.

Our Approach

The work began with a clear ambition to create a guest-facing brand moment – one that would feel unmistakably Louis XIII while sitting comfortably within the character of the Norton Bar. To achieve this, the process was rooted in creative conceptualisation from the outset.

Before any material sampling or prototyping, a highly detailed, photoreal 3D render was developed to fully visualise the activation within the space. Every translucent surface, mirrored detail and trace of ambient light was carefully considered, allowing the experience to be tested, refined and resolved before anything was physically made.

This process enabled a precise understanding of how Louis XIII would inhabit the bar – complementing its historic architecture while confidently asserting its own identity. The render became a critical creative tool, aligning stakeholders around a shared vision and ensuring the activation would enhance the setting while still managing to steal the spotlight.

As part of this concept-led work, immersive brand moments were developed as creative propositions, setting the tone and ambition for how the Louis XIII brand could be expressed in physical space.

Materiality, lighting and structural expression were then orchestrated to bring the concept into reality. Each element was selected and refined to bridge contemporary luxury with classic elegance, creating a seamless dialogue between brand and environment. The result was an experience that felt both considered and striking – a modern interpretation of Louis XIII, grounded firmly in its surroundings.
